S-Boat Class 153 ("Pfeil" and "Strahl") S-Boat Class 153 - "Strahl" (British "Brave"-Class) Technical Data
Specials The boats were conciperet as Motor-Torpedo-Boats (version MTB: 1 x 40 mm and 4 Torpedolaunchingracks) and as Motor-Gun-Boats (version MGB: 2 x 40 mm and 2 Torpedolaunchingracks). The hull consisted of an aluminium-framing with a mahagony skin. For the Royal Danich Navy (Søværnet) six boats were built in version MTB between 1962 and 1965 - "Søløven" (P 510), "Søridderen" (P 511), Søbjørnen" (P 512), "Søhesten" (P 513), "Søhunden" (P 5114) and "Søulven" (P 515). The Federal Navy got one boat in 1962 in a version MTB with two 40mm-guns - S-"Strahl" (P 6194). The boat was handed over to the Helenic Navy in 1967 on there commisssioned as "Astrapi". Specials Since construction- and operating costs for the "Brave"-class were very high, the company produced a somewhat smaller class of boats, the "Feriocity"-class. The boats were propelled by two gas-turbines and had two diesel engined for the march. The construction was all wooden in order to minimize construction cost. Upon end of trials in the Federal German Navy the boat was left to Greece in 1967 as "Aiolub".
