The S-Boat-Flotilla The Command of the S-Boats (Kommando der Schnellboote) was established in Flensburg-Mürwik on 01.10.1957 with Organization Order No. 71 - Navy. On 01.01.1967 the name was changed to S-Boat-Flotilla (Schnellbootflottille). In September 1964 all Tenders and S-boats of Kommando der Schnellboote ready for sea were laying at ankers for a farewell to the Commander in Chief (K.d.S.) of the S-Boats, Kpt z.S. Bernd Klug. S-boats and Tenders 1964 during the farewell to the K.d.S. off Hirtshals - Picture: Archives Förderverein From 1968 on the S-Flotilla carried out once per year a Type-Command-Exercise with all available S-Boats and Tenders in the Kattegatt and Skagerrak. With introduction of the so called Einsatzflottille 1 (EF 1) as one of the two larger units under direct control of the Fleetcommand in Glücksburg-Meierwik the S-Flotilla was closed down on 29.06.2006 as well as all other Type-Commands. All S-Boats (7. S-Squad) are now assigned to EF 1. Also the new corvettes of Braunschweig-Class (K 130) were assigned to EF 1.
