S-Boats in the Kriegsmarine 1935 - 1945 S-Boats in Other Units of Kriegsmarine Fast ASW-Group Fast Anti-Submarine Chacer Group (Schnelle U-Jagd-Gruppe) Already from 29.04. until 22.07.1940 boats "S 8", "S 9", "S 14", "S 15", and "S 16" had been reconstructed for Fast ASW Group (Schnelle U-Jags-Gruppe) at Bergen/Norway, probably also "S 7". The group was subordinate to Admiral Western Coast Norway (Admiral Norwegische Westküste), Adm. von Schrader.
Which reconstructions were performed for the Fast ASW-Group cannot be deducted from the available documentation. Boat of Fast ASW-Group 1940/41 - Picture: Archives Erling Skjold At the dissolving of the Fast ASW-Group in March 1941 boats "S 14", "S 15", and "S 16" were transferred to 55. Vorpostenflottille (Picket-Flotilla). "S 9" was transferred to the Torpedo Testcentre - Torpedoversuchsanstalt (TVA) - , Eckernförde, on 05.04.1941 as a testvehicle and became 1945 a war loot of Great Britain at the end of war. Data about their operations in these employments are not available. At the end of war also "S 8" was laying at Eckernförde as a hulk. The employments of "S 7" and "S 8" from 1941 to 1945 are not clear. Both became part of the British war loot in 1945.
