S-Boats in the Kriegsmarine 1935 - 1945 S-Boats in Other Units of Kriegsmarine 55. Vorposten Flottille (Picket Flotilla) With the dissolution of the Fast AWS-Group in March 1941 "S 14" to "S 16" were declared as pickets and transferred to the 55. Vorposten-Flottille (Picket Flotilla) of the Coastal Defence Unit Norwegian Westcoats (KKpt Bartels) stationed at Bergen/Norway.
According to the KTB (War Diary) of Admiral Norwegian Westcoast boats "S 14" and "S 16" were entering Bergen on 17.05.1941 and were subordinated to the Küstensicherungsverband (Coastal Defence Unit). Boat "S 12" is not mentioned in the KTB Admiral Westküste, however it is listed with date of transfer 01.04.1942 and designator "V 5504" in Historisches Marinearchiv & Forum Marinearchiv - Lebensläufe Schnellboote (Historical Navyarchives & Forum Navyarchives - vitae s-boats). There also is stated that she was transferred to 51. Vorposten-Flottille (Picket Flotilla) in 1944 and got back her old designator "S 12". Boat "S 14" is mentioned for the last time in the KTB Admiral Norwegian Westcoast on 13.12.1941 leaving Kristiansand. Destination was KM-Werft (KM-Shipyard) to change engines. According to Historisches Marinearchiv & Forum Marinearchiv - Lebensläufe Schnellboote - the boat is acconted for from 1941 to 1944 as "V 5509" at the 55. Vorpostenflottille. In the KTBs Admiral Norwegian Westcoast she does not appear again. The S-boats of the KSV were mainly
employed for transport of personnel and wounded, guarding operations for
coastal convoys, minelaying and ASW operations.Precise data about their
operations unfortunately are not available. 1944 the boats were
transferred from the 55. to the 51. Vorposten-Flottille and got back their
old designators "S 10", "S 11", "S 13", "S
15", and "S 16". The
whereabouts of boats „S 12“
and „S 14“

can
presently

At a re-organization of the Küstensicherungsverband norwegische Westküste (Coast Defence Unit Norwegian Westcoast) the former S-boats V 5507, V 5508, and V 5510 - 5512 were turned over to the 51. Vorpostenflottille(Picket Flotilla) and got back their old designators.
The boats were as already in the the 55. Vorpostenflottille (Picket Flotilla) mainly employed for Safeguarding of merchant ships and for the transport of personnel. At the end of war on 08.05.1945 the boats were laying at Bergen/Norway.
