Average S76 "Frettchen" - S71 "Gepard" -  April 20th 2007

From 2006 to 2016 the 7. S-Boat-Squadron nearly always stook part in Operation UNIFIL. Therby changing of crews was tested in order to achieve a longer time-on-task for the platforms. Several boats thus were longer on-task than a year. The longest time-on-task was 17 months.

On February 12th 2007 S71 "Gepard" and S76 "Frettchen" transfered  from Warnemünde to Limassol, where they relieved S74 "Nerz" and S78 "Ozelot". The two boats returned together with Tender "Elbe" to Warnemünde on March 17th 2007.

With that the UNIFIL-actions of the 7. S-Boat-Squadron were planned to end because from then on the corvettes took over this task.

On April 20rh 2007 S76 "Frettchen" rammed S71 "Gepard". Both boats suffered bad damages. After a on-the-spot-repair in the Mediterranean Sea the boats transfered back to Germany for repairs.
