S-Boats in the Polish Navy 1957 - today

 

S-Boats Orkan-Class (Project 151, Sassnitz)

Three boats of type BALCOM 10  (GDR/SU Project 151, Sassnitz) were built at Peene-Shipyerd, Wolgast, after the German reunification. The boats were delivered partly equipped and retrofitted to meet western standeards.  

The boats got the hull-numbers and names as follows:

Specials

Instead of the main armament envisaged for Balcom 10, two Soviet missile-start-containers FG 1520 each for four surface-to--suface missiles of type SS-N-25 Switschblade, the boats of Orkan-class were equipped with four starters for the Swedish surface-to-surface missile RBS 15 each.

The Orkan-boats are still in service with the Polish Navy.
