Specials

The ship planned to be a ferry in the Heligoland-Service was launched on 4. Juli 1914. She was commissioned on 5. Oktober 1914 as Tender "Nordsee". She served until the end of WW I as forward guard ship. AT the end of the war she was assigned to the Tenderhalfflotilla of the Commander in Chief Naval Forces Northsea (Befehlshaber Seestreitkräfte Nordsee) and decommissioned on 30. Juni 1919. On 16. Februar 1921 she was reactivated and sailed as basetender of the Navybase Baltic (Marinestation der Ostsee). In the years 1932/34 she was temporary tender of the 1. S-Flotilla and thereafter again basetender. On 1. Oktober 1935 she was assigned to Marineschule Mürwik. On 13. February 1939 she officially was declared schoolboat. 1942/43 "Nordsee" was retrofitted to Räumboot-Begleitschiff and again commissionde on 15. November 1943 for the 13. R-Flotilla. She was employed in the German Bight. After the end of the war she was assigned to the German Minesweeping Service before it was handed over to the Americans. 1949 she was broken up in Belgium.
