S-Boats in the Volksmarine 1956 - 1990

 Light Torpedo-S-Boat Projekt 81.2

In accordance with a request the Roßlau  Shipyard developed  a Light Torpedo-S-Boat similar to project 63.300 (Projekt 81) built by fully riveted seawaterresistant aluminium which during testing did not meet the speed-requirements with its single dieselmotor type M50F-3. Therefore, the boat was equipped with light bow-foils (Projekt 81.2). 

In light seastate the boat was developing the speed demanded but her other seabehavior was bad, therefore the project was broken off.
