S-Boat Class 146 (Torpedo-S-Boat)
S-Boat Class 146 - Drawing: Fock
The Torpedo-S-Boat Class S 146 was planned with the hull and the propulsion of class 145. As weapons were projected: 2 x 53,3cm stern-torpedo-tubes for the wireguided SEAL-torpedoes, 1 x 40mm Bofors forward and 1 x 76mm OTO Melara astern. However - as with class 145 - the first boat would not have been ready to be put to sea before 1976.
S-Boat Class 144 - Drawing: Fock
The project of a CODAG-Version (Combined Diesel- and Gasturbine-Propulsion) based upon the design of the type S 143 with 2 x 76mm OTO Melara, 2 x 53,3 cm stern-torpedo-tubes for the wireguided SEAL-torpedoes as well as 4 x missile-launchers and M 27 firecontrol system was discontinued at the end of the 60s due to high cost.
S-Boat Class 145 Status of Planning 1970 - Drawing: Fock
Because the planned class S 144 with CODAG-propulsion and a costly AGIS-Command and Control System (FÜWES) was to expensive a new class of boats was designed with a standard hull and a standard propulsion system and varying weapon fit. The class S 145 was planned as missile-S-boat with 4 x MM 38-Exocet, 2 x 40mm-Bofors MK and M 22- resp. Vega-Pollux-firecontrol system. The original planning for the artillery was then altered in 1 x 40mm Twin-MK and 1 x 76mm OTO Melara. In the plans as of the year 1970 not only this change was enclosed but also an AGIS-FüWES.
