Accomodation-Ship (Wohnschiff) "Grobian"
Technical Data
Specials The ship was originally built as tank-tugship "Sallanda" and confiscated by the KM on 16.08.1942. She sank after a hit by a bomb on river Elbe close to Wittenberg. She was salvaged in the early 1950ies and reconstructed to Lifting Ship "Grobian". Because of a continuous malfunction in the lifting system she was turned over to Seestreitkräfte der DDR for further use on 31.05.1956. Upon reconstruction as a accommodation ship at Neptun-Werft, Rostock, she was commissioned 08.10.1958 for the 6. TSA. She served for the school-boat-division at Parow until she was decommissioned on 18.09.1981 and was broken off in 1982.
