S-Boats in the Royal Danish Navy 1947 - 2000 (Søværnet)

P547 "Sehested"

 The former torpedomissilboat P 547 "Sehested" of the Willemoes-class is situated at the den "Flydende Kold Krigs-Museum" (Floating Museum of the Cold War) on Holmen at Copenhagen. Holmen was the main base of Søværnet (Royal Danish Navy) from 1690 until 1993 on an atificial island outside Copenhagen of the old Copenhagen.

Its regular mooring is in front of the historic mastkrane of the former Navy Base. Today the boat is maintained by member of the foundation Peder Skram, supported by members of the Dansk Torpedobåd-Forening, who also act as guides for guided tours on the boat. In 2024 the responsibility for attention and maintenace of the boat according to actual plans is turned over to Dansk Torpedobåd-Forening.

A visit to Holmen is possible through the former main gate od the base. Entrance ticket for the floating units, the frigate "Peder Skram" and the FPB "Sehested", and the submarine "Sælen", which lies on land, can be obtained at the end of the berthing of "Peder Skram" ligger, in a small ticket-office. Guides for the vessels are available.

"Sehested" is completely equipped as she was in her active time in the Danish fleet. All rooms inclusive engine-room and operations-room can be visited. Et model of  "Sehested's"sisterboat, P 542 "Hammer", and a model of "Søulven" (P 515), a boat of "Søløven"-class, handed over by Fördervereins Museums-Schnellboot e.V. during a visit on board, can be seen in a room nextr to the wardroom.
