S-Boats in the Royal Swedish Navy 1921 - 2000 (Marinen) RT 142 - Class ("Ystad"-Class) The 12 torpedoboats of type "Norrköbing" (Spica II) were built by Karlskronaverv from 1971 until 1976. They were retrofitted in the 1980s as Robotbåtar (missileboats) and got the new hullnumbers "R 131" through "R 142". Of the 12 missile-boats of type R 131 "Norrköbing" six boats were retrofitted from 1996 to 2000 and fitted with the new combat direction system MARIL 2000 and a total of 8 containers for the surface-to-surface missile RBS 15. After the first retrofitted boat, HMS Ystad (R 142), they got the class-desination "Ystad"-class or "R 142"-class. The other six boats "Norrtälje" (R 133), "Varberg" (R 134), "Västerås" (R 135), "Västervik" (R 136), "Umeå" (R 137) und "Strömstad" (R 141) were decommissioned. "Västervik" (R 136) was turned over to the Marine Museum Karlskrona. In 2001 "Luleå" (R 139) and "Halmstad" (R 140) were decommissioned, in 2003 "Nynäshamn" (R 132) and "Piteå" (R 138). "Norrköping" (R 131) and "Ystad" (R 142) remained in service until fall 2005, when they finally were decommissioned in the naval base Karlskrona. R 142 "Ystad" today is owned by "Statens Maritima och Transporthistoriska Museer" but is sailed and maintained by the members of "Föreningen Svenska Robotbåtar" and the Veteran Flotilje.

Specialities R 136 "Västervik" was turned over to the Marinemuseum Karlskrona. Fitting her with the equipment and weapon to meet the original-fit is organized by the "Västerviks Venner" who support the Marinemuseum to upkeep and to maintain the boat in order to use it in the future as a living museum-vehicle. R 131 "Norrköping", R 132 "Nynäshamn", R 138 "Piteå", R 139 "Luleå", R 140 "Halmstad", and R 142 "Ystad".
